Peke Moe?

Our munchkin loves her swaddle. LOVES her swaddle. So much that at almost eight months old she refuses to sleep without it. Despite all of our efforts to "transition" her away from it. Hey - I can't blame her too much - I usually sleep in pj pants with pockets and wake up with my hands tucked in at night!
But there comes a time when you just can't find a swaddle blanket big enough. And you start to have nightmares about visiting her college dorm for her nightly tuck and swaddle.

So I am intrigued to have found the Peke Moe, a sleep sack from New Zealand that is promoted as a good "transition" blanket from a swaddler.

Anyone tried these? The concept is interesting but I hate to spend that much money and have it shipped overseas only to find that it doesn't work at all. Hmmmmm...If you've tried this or have any other suggestions for breaking the swaddle habit, please share!

Well I recommend the Peke Moe! ;) haha.. other ideas are to use a regular 'armless' sleep sack and pin the arm holes closed to start with. Try just wrapping one arm instead of both (do it at nap times first)... give baby a 'lovey' or something to hold onto with those hands! :) all the best!

Something like that shouldn't be too hard to make yourself.

My son hated to be swaddled, but loved his sleep sack so much that we had to buy the big size to fit him:)

When we weaned Libbie off the swaddler at 4 months, it took TWO MONTHS for her to start sleeping through the night again. Don't stop! Ever!

LOL.

We do give her a lovey to cling to, and that seems to help a lot.
